Welbedacht – pronounced Well-be-duct means well thought in High Dutch and was demarcated in 1830 from the farm Driefontein – meaning three fountains – in the Wellington district. Wellington, the town was formed in 1698, is a mere 45 minutes drive from Cape Town, the regional capital. Participants will run the designated loop though a portion of the 110 hectares wine estate surrounded by towering peaks, old vineyards and clear dams.

Welbedacht is the host to Race #2 in the Backyard Ultra 'South Africa' Series. Runners will be treated to a spectacular course with breath-taking views. April weather conditions are perfectly suited for runners who are looking for cooler temperatures to push their limits.

The route is also supporter and spectator friendly as the majority of the route can be seen from the Start / Finish area. The Start / Finish area is situated right next to an open field which allows athletes to be able to set up their gazebos / tents close at hand.

Expect a fantastic weekend out for both the athletes and supporters and an incredible challenge.
